Lot Generation Module (Improved)

The Improved Lot Generation module is the administrative starting point for active manufacturing. A “Lot” (or Batch) acts as a unique tracking container for a specific production run. It groups raw materials, worker assignments, and finished goods under a single traceable ID.

[!IMPORTANT] Prerequisites: You cannot generate a Lot without first creating a Product with defined Production Sizes. Ensure your product master data is configured correctly before starting here.

1. The Lot Generation Dashboard

Navigate to Improved Lot Generation from the main sidebar.

Dashboard Filters

At the top of the interface, define your view parameters:

Start Date & End Date: Filter the visible lots based on their creation date (defaults to the current month).
Show/Hide Finished Items: Toggle this checkbox to hide lots that have completed their entire manufacturing lifecycle and are fully received into stock. This keeps your active dashboard clean.
Enable Exact Match Search: Located below the table, toggling this forces the global search to look for exact string matches rather than partial ones.

The Data Grid

The main table displays an exhaustive list of all active and historical lots.

Default Columns: Product, Job Name, Date, Lot No, Description, Remarks, Total Qty, Total Dozen, and UserName (showing both creator and last editor).
Hidden Columns (Toggle via Visibility Button): Company, Customer, Estimate, Contact Person, Contact Person Mobile, State, District, Block, Sector, Pincode, Address, and four custom extra_column fields. (These are incredibly useful for tracking custom B2B orders geographically).
Actions:
- View (Eye): Open a read-only detailed view of the lot.
- Edit (Pencil): Modify the lot details (if no assignments are active).
- Delete (Trash): Permanently remove the lot. Note: You cannot delete a lot if it already has associated worker assignments.
Exporting: Use the buttons above the grid to export the current view to CSV, Excel, or Copy to clipboard.

2. Standard Lot Generation

Click the + New Lot/Job Generation button to open the single-lot creation form.

2.1 Basic Manufacturing Details

Company: Select the specific business entity executing the manufacturing.
Date: The date the lot is officially opened.
Product: Search for and select the target product. The system will display a rich tooltip showing the product’s HSN, Sales Rate, Category, and Size Group to help you verify your selection.
Lot No / Batch No: Enter a unique identifier for this run (e.g., LOT-OCT-001). This number will be used across all assignment and receipt forms.
Color: If your product is manufactured in specific colors, select the target color variant for this lot.
Job Name / Job Type Note: Assign a specific job category. You can use the Advance Search option in the dropdown to quickly find complex job configurations.
Product Description: Select or type a custom description for the product variant being manufactured.

2.2 Sizing and Quantities

Once the product is selected, a grid of sizes will appear based on the Product’s master data.

Target Quantity: Enter the exact number of pieces you intend to manufacture for each specific size in this lot. The system will automatically calculate the Total Qty and Total Dozen.

2.3 Order Linking (B2B/Custom Orders)

If this lot is being manufactured specifically to fulfill a pending customer order, use this section for end-to-end traceability:

Customer: Search for the buyer. The dropdown shows detailed previews including their GSTIN, Agency, and State.
Estimate: Once a customer is selected, link this lot directly to their Sales Estimate / Proforma Invoice. This connects production directly to the expected revenue.

2.4 Contact & Geographic Info

For lots being manufactured for specific remote locations or custom clients, you can fill out:

Contact Person, Mobile, State, District, Block, Sector, Pincode, and Address.

Click Save to generate the Lot.

3. Bulk Lot Generation

For high-volume factories that need to open multiple production runs simultaneously, the system provides a Bulk Generation tool.

Click the Bulk Generation button (next to the New Lot button).
This opens a specialized spreadsheet-like modal where you can define the Company, Product, and Lot No for multiple distinct lots at the same time.
Fill out each row for the distinct batches you need to open.
Click Save All to instantly generate all the lots, saving significant administrative data entry time.
